Happy Yew Near
We had a fun New Years Eve last night with E and C and their kids, as usual. We all wear our pajamas every year, and just chill, eat, drink, eat, watch movies, eat, play games, eat, you get the picture! It is always a relaxing and fun time, and we get to spend time with our closest friends, so that's a bonus in itself. I thought a lot about how lucky we are, and how I'm going to make the most of this year, be it taking time for a pedicure, organizing my messy house, camping, reading, and most of all, being a better and more patient, fun mom for my boys. They see me stressed out a LOT, and try to make it better when they're not fighting, so I feel the need to let them see a more relaxed side of me. Today, we just chilled in our jammies, well, I took a shower, because I can't relax when I'm feeling scuzzy, and I MADE T take a shower because he was stinky and had the long greasy hair look happening. The kids played ps3, and when they got in one too many fights, Coach made them clean their room-ha! That will teach them. I played Trouble with them sprawled in the middle of my bed, Coach made his favorite New Years' treat-escargot...YUK! We won't eat it, so he has his friend from work share it with him the next day. He said that they'd be coming home for lunch tomorrow to have it...oh joy. We cooked the BEST ham later. He got it from his vendor at the night job. It was a Falls Brand bone-in half ham, and if you can find that kind, GET IT. It was so juicy, tender, and not too salty. I made an apricot glaze off of their website, and it was so yummy I coulda ate it with a spoon. The kids were even brushing the leftover glaze on their meat at dinner. We ate cheesy potatoes made with cubed hashbrowns-one of my favorites from my grandma's recipe box-and brussels sprouts, which the kids LOVE...weird. Later, as I was cleaning up and trying to find room in the fridge, I discovered that we had way too many condiments. Here is what I found...2 kinds of horseradish, four jars of cocktail sauce ('cause I can't find one I like...they're too ketchupy), two giant costco bottles of mustard left from camping, two jars of sweet hot mustard, one of garlic whole grain mustard, three kinds of relish, three bottles of red wine vinegar, two of rice vinegar, two of teriyaki sauce, two of blue cheese dressing, one of thousand island, two jars of marinated baby corn, THREE jars of sauerkraut (wtf), two jars of pickles, one of which had TWO little tiny bread and butter chips left, and much, much more. I threw a few away, but I plan to do more overhauling tomorrow. I'm also going to try to take down some of the Christmas stuff. It pains me to do it, so I have to do it a little at a time. How was your New Years?
UPDATE: The above is a flashback friday pic-first day of kindergarten and middle school!!! Last night, it wouldn't load, but now it appeared suddenly! Yea!

Please ignore that big stupid blank picture...I couldn't get it off, and so it's just...there. I'll post flashback fri. today!

I am sorry my page is taking so long to load. I am wondering if it is because I have been posting so many more pictures? Are you still having a hard time with it? LMK.
Sweet picture.
